About the Presenter:
Denise Gallagher is originally from Hialeah, Florida. She attended Wellesley College for her undergraduate education, where her major was biological chemistry. After college, she attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine for her medical training. She then completed an internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City before beginning her ophthalmology residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. She is currently a second-year resident.
Jose Perez Gonzalez de Apodaca was born in the Canary Islands (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) in Spain. He grew up in Madrid, Spain and in 1989, he moved to Pasadena, California to study at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). In June of 1993, he received his B.S. (Biology) with Honor from the California Institute of Technology. After that, in September of 2003, he completed his M.D. and Ph.D. (Physiology and Biophysics) degrees at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, New York). In June of 2005 he finished his Internal Medicine Internship at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital (Cooperstown, New York) and he is currently doing his Ophthalmology Residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center (Bronx, New York).
Prabjot Channa is an attending in the Cornea Service, Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine from where she completed her residency in Ophthalmology. She did her fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases at the F.I. Proctor Foundation. Her areas of interest include ocular surface disorders and their management, infectious disease of the cornea and adnexa and keratoprosthesis. She can be reached at mdeyes@optonline.net.
