Dr Rajesh Fogla DNB, FRCS, MMed (Ophth)
Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist, Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, India ;
Dr Rajesh Fogla graduated from Gauhati Medical College with gold medal in General Surgery and ENT. He completed his postgraduation in Ophthalmology from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons,Edinburgh,UK, and the National University of Singapore. He completed his fellowship in Cornea & External Diseases from Sankara Nethralaya,one the premier eye institutes in India. He worked as a consultant at Sankara Nethralaya, chennai, India, between 1998 and 2005. He estabilished the eye department for Apollo Hospitals in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He was the first person to introduce Excimer Laser Surgery (LASIK) in Sri Lanka in 2002. First eye surgeon to perform Deep Lamellar Endothelial Keratoplasty procedure in India in 2004. He specializes in the management of Keratoconus, and routinely performs Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty using the Big Bubble technique.
His other areas of interest include, Ocular Surface Reconstruction, Refractive Surgery, Refractive Cataract Surgery and Corneal Infections. You can email me at
