About the Presenter:
Merle Fernandes, MS
Dr Fernandes, has completed her under- and post-graduate training at Goa Medical College, Goa, India. After completing a fellowship programme in Cornea and Anterior Segment at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India, she worked in the Cornea Service at the same Institute for 3 years, and subsequently as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Apollo Victor Hospital in Goa for a year. Currently she is working as a consultant in the Cornea Services at LV Prasad Eye Institute. She has several publications in international and national peer reviewed literature and has presented papers at conferences in India and abroad. She is a reviewer for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology and Indian Journal of Ophthalmology. Her main foci of interests are in pediatric penetrating keratoplasty, ocular surface disorders, refractive surgery and microbial keratitis.
